Listen here.
Let's talk about something I think holds a lot of people back — and that's the fear of success. But here's the thing: I genuinely believe a big reason people are afraid of it is because they've been conditioned to think success only looks one particular way.
And it doesn't.
The Highlight Reel We've All Been Sold
When most people picture success, they picture celebrities. The nice houses, the glamorous events, the paparazzi, the lifestyle that's constantly on display. And sure, if that's what you're working toward — that's amazing, truly. I hope you get there.
But for the large majority of us? That's not actually what we want. And I think it's worth slowing down and being honest about that.
I'll speak from my own experience. I grew up in the performing arts — dance was a huge part of my life. And even then, I was never really someone who loved being in the spotlight. My goal was always to be more of a choreographer than a performer. If you know anything about the dance world, you know how difficult it is to get there without going through the performance side first. So I wrestled with that tension for a long time — wanting to create, but not necessarily wanting to be seen in the way the industry expected.
That experience shaped how I think about success today.
What Success Actually Means To Me
My personal definition of success comes back to three things: time freedom, location freedom, and the freedom to have options — which, honestly, usually comes back to money. Not wealth for the sake of status, but resources that give me choices.
Do I want a few nice things here and there as a result of my hard work? Of course. But spending my days chasing celebrity events or constantly performing a glamorous lifestyle for the world to see? That doesn't align with who I am.
Cool, once-in-a-while experiences? Yes. A full-time lifestyle built around that? Not for me.
You Get To Write Your Own Definition
Just like you get to create and tell your own story, your idea of success gets to be anything you want it to be. It doesn't have to be big or flashy or publicly recognized. It can be quiet. It can be flexible. It can look completely different from what you see online.
Don't steer yourself away from pursuing success because the version you've been shown doesn't resonate with you. That's not the only version that exists — it's just the loudest one.
Your success is allowed to look like yours.
