Use Your Voice - You Were Not Meant To Be Small

Listen here.

A reminder that your uniqueness is your superpower

There's a whisper that follows many of us through life--a quiet voice that suggests we should stay small, blend in, and avoid drawing attention to ourselves, But here's the truth that needs to be spoken loudly:

You are not here to be small. silent, or invisible. You are here to unleash all of your awesomeness out into the world.

Your Unique Blueprint

Every single person carries within them a distinctive combination of talents, perspectives, values and worldviews. Think of it as your personal blueprint--something that has never existed before and will never exist again. You have two choices with this blueprint:

  1. You can use it to create an amazing place for yourself in the world
  2. You can keep it hidden and choose to stay small

The beauty of human discovery means that creating your place in the world looks different for everyone. For some, it might be as intimate as becoming the trusted confidant your friends turn to in times of need. For others, it could mean building a global community where your influence reaches millions. Neither path is superior--they're simply different expressions of the same fundamental truth: we all have something valuable to contribute.

Redefining "Small" & "Invisible"

It's worth noting that some might view staying within your immediate circle without seeking broader recognition as remaining small and invisible. This perspective has validity too, it circles back to our earlier point about differing values and viewpoints. The key isn't in the scale of your influence, but in whether you're authentically expressing who you are.

What truly matters in avoiding smallness, silence, or invisibility is one fundamental thing: using your voice.

Your Voice, Your Why

When we talk about using your voice, it doesn't mean everyone is destined to become a professional speaker or public figure. Your voice can manifest in countless ways:

  • Advocating for friends and family when they need support
  • Standing up for your beliefs in everyday conversations
  • Passionately sharing your interests and knowledge
  • Creating art, writing, or content that reflects your perspective
  • Mentoring others in areas where you have expertise
  • Simply being authentically yourself in all your interactions

The power of your voice isn't measured by its volume or reach--it's measured by its authenticity and the courage it takes to use it.

The Reality of Resonance

Here's something that might initially feel discouraging but is actually liberating: you are not going to resonate with every single person, and that's okay!

Remember those different views and perspectives we discussed? They naturally create different voices, different approaches, and different ways of connecting with the world. This means that while some people will deeply connect with your message, others might disagree or simply not understand where you're coming from.

The temptation when faced with disagreement or misunderstanding is to dim your light or lower your voice, but here's what's crucial to remember: disagreement doesn't diminish your worth or the validity of your perspective.

Everyone deserves to be heard and seen--even those you don't agree with. They are people just like you, navigating their own journey with their own unique blueprint.

The Heart of The Matter

At its core, this all comes down to one simple but profound instruction: follow your heart. Follow your values, dreams, goals, desires, passions, and beliefs. Don't silence the things that light you up inside. We are all here to bring a unique perspective to this world, and that perspective shouldn't be muted out of fear or the desire to fit in.

Embracing every part of yourself and sharing it with the world might feel vulnerable at first. It might feel risky to stand out or speak up. But here's what I know to be true: there are people out there who will resonate deeply with your authentic voice.  They're waiting to hear from you, to find someone who shares their perspective, or to learn something new from your unique viewpoint.

Your Time Is Now

Your voice matters. Your perspective is needed. Your unique combination of talents, values, and experiences is not an accident--it's a gift to be shared.

The world doesn't need another carbon copy of someone else. It needs the original, authentic, unrepeatable version of you. So speak up. Share your thoughts. Pursue your passions openly. Advocate for what you believe in. Be the person who isn't afraid to take up space in this world.

Use your voice, because you were not meant to be small, silent, or invisible. You were meant to shine!

What's one way you can use your voice more boldly today? The world is waiting to hear what you have to say!
